Lead with integrity, humility, YabaTech Rector urges NANS leaders

The Rector of Yaba College of Technology, Dr Ibrahim Abdul, has counselled the new leadership of the National Union of Nigerian Students (NANS) in the College to lead with integrity, humility and a deep commitment to serving their fellow students.

Abdul gave the advice during the inauguration of the newly elected Student’s Union executives, Yaba College of Technology chapter

Honourable guests, esteemed faculty members, and most importantly, the vibrant student body of Yaba College of Technology in Lagos.

“Today marks a significant moment in the life of our institution. This is as we gather to inaugurate the newly elected student union executives.

“This occasion is a celebration of democracy. It is also a testament to the enduring spirit of leadership and responsibility among students.

“To the incoming executives, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. Your election is a reflection of the trust and confidence bestowed upon you by your peers.

“As you assume your roles, remember that with great power comes great responsibility. You have been entrusted with the mandate to represent the student body, advocate for their rights, and champion their interests.

“I urge you to lead with integrity, humility, and a deep commitment to serving your fellow students. Let the principles of inclusivity, transparency and accountability guide your actions.

As leaders, he said they are not just administrators but also ambassadors of Yaba College of Technology.

He advised them to uphold the values of excellence, innovation and teamwork that define the institution.

“I encourage you to collaborate closely with the college administration, faculty, and staff to address the needs and concerns of the student body effectively.

“Together, let us work towards enhancing the overall experience of our students and advancing the mission of Yaba College of Technology.”

Abdul expressed utmost confidence in the ability of the newly elected student union executives to lead with distinction and make a positive impact on our college community.
