A former member of the House of Representatives, Shina Peller has resigned from the Accord Party to join the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.

TheNewsZenith reports that Peller represented Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola Federal constituency of Oyo state in the ninth National Assembly.

He said he joined PDP because of Gov. Seyi Makinde’s quality performance since the inception of his administration.

Peller said he led thousands of Accord Party members in the Oyo North senatorial district into PDP.

At a reception in Iseyin town, Deputy Governor, Adebayo Lawal represented the governor to formerly received Peller and his supporters.

Lawal assured them of equal treatment and a level playing field in the party.

While handing over the party flag to Peller and others, Makinde said PDP would give them a chance to blend.

That would enable them all join hands to move the party forward.

Interracting with newsmen later, Peller said members of the Accord party in the senatorial district to defect to the ruling PDP, based on the good works Gov. Makinde is doing.

“I have learnt my lessons, life is divided into three parts, yesterday, today and tomorrow. You can do about the past to learn your lessons and move forward.

“We need to move forward. We see PDP in Oyo State, especially Gov. Makinde, making PDP a bride to behold. This is because of the great work he is doing,” Peller said.

Also, Special Advice to Gov. Makinde on Federal Consistency Matter, Dare Adeleke remarked that Peller was not a stranger. “He is welcome to the party.

TheNewsZenith recalls that Peller was the lawmaker representing the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency until June 2022 when he resigned his membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
