Lagos, April 25, ’26 (TNZ) Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation (ZSF) has provided financial assistance, totalling ₦209,630,000, across its food packs, medical and educational support programmes.
TheNewsZenith reports that supports are parts of welfare programmes lined up to impact the lives of Nigerians in the 2026 circle.
Prince Sulaiman Olagunju, the Executive Director of ZSF, officiated at the distribution of the medical and educational supports to beneficiaries on Thursday in Lagos.

Olagunju remarked that the event aimed at touching thousands of lives and reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to social welfare and community development.
“Today is more than a ceremony. It is a significant milestone as this disbursement officially marks the beginning of our 2026 Zakat distribution across Nigeria.
“It reflects our renewed commitment to reaching more vulnerable individuals and communities with timely and impactful support.
“As part of this first phase of zakat disbursement, a total of 64 medical support beneficiaries will receive the sum of ₦85,080,000 to assist with critical healthcare needs.
“In addition, 67 students benefit from educational support amounting to ₦19,550,000. This will help them pursue their academic goals with greater confidence and stability.
“In the last two months alone, the Foundation also distributed food packs and cash support worth ₦105 million to over 30,000 indigent families.
“With today’s medical and educational intervention, the Foundation has so far provided a total support of ₦209,630,000 across its various programmes.
“The programmes aimed at touching thousands of lives and reinforcing our commitment to social welfare and community development,” TheNewsZenith quotes Olagunju as saying.
According to the Executive Director, the intervention is a reminder of the values of compassion, responsibility, and solidarity that lie at the heart of our faith and humanity.
“Through zakat and sadaqat, we can extend hope to families facing health challenges.
“We also create opportunities for students whose dreams might otherwise be delayed by financial hardship.”
ZSF recognises that access to quality healthcare and education is essential for dignity, progress, and a better future.

By supporting medical needs, Olagunju noted that the foundation helped to restore health and ease burdens.
“By investing in education, we empower minds, strengthen communities, and prepare future leaders,” he added.
He expressed appreciation to all zakat and Sadaqat payers, partners, volunteers, and all well-wishers whose generosity has made this programme possible.
“Your contributions are transforming lives and demonstrating that when we come together in service, meaningful change becomes possible.
“To our beneficiaries, this support is given with respect, care, and prayers for your continued success and well-being.
“We encourage you to make the best use of these opportunities. And, by Allah’s grace, you will become future zakat contributors to the upliftment of others.
“As a foundation, we remain committed to transparency, accountability, and expanding our reach.
“This is to ensure that more individuals and families benefit from these resources,” TheNewsZenith quotes the ED as adding.
Glorious Ogunleye, one of the beneficiaries of medical support, was full of praise for ZSF for coming to her aid.
Ogunleye, who is a student of Mass Communication at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), said she was diagnosed with osteomyelitis (bone infections) and needed surgery.
She said that ZSF stepped in to fund the first treatment to flush out the infection.
Ogunleye thanked the Foundation for giving her hope by stepping in with the medical support
Another beneficiary, Kasali Rashidat, narrated how she required surgery for her hip replacement at the Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.
Kasali thanked the Foundation for helping to offset her medical bill with N2.5 million. (TNZ)
