Gunmen kill village head in Kaduna

Gunmen have thrown the Marke community in Dandamisa Ward, Makarfi Local Government area of Kaduna State, into pandemonium, killing its Village Head, Malam Kabiru Mohammed.

TheNewsZenith learnt that the gunmen, suspected to be hired assassins, forcefully gained entrance into the village head’s home at about 1.00 a.m. on Thursday. They killed him and set the house ablaze.

The Councillor of Dandamisa Ward, Alhaji Aminu Sani Marke, confirmed the tragic killing of the village head.

Marke told newsmen that the the community member could not recover the body of late Muhammed as the gunmen raced down the house.

“The gunmen spent about one hour operating in the village and went away with valuables worth millions of naira,” the councillor said.

Sources in the neighbourhood said the fire completely burnt the body of Mohammed beyond recognition. No one could recover his card body.
This incident has left the community in shock and mourning.
The gunmen allegedly looted valuables worth millions of naira before set the house ablaze and fleeing the scene.

The 30-year-old Late Muhammad, age 30 years, was turbaned as the village head of Marke in 2018, TheNewsZenith gathered.

The Kaduna State Police Command was yet comment on the matter as at the time of filing this report.
