New Lagos MULAN leader seeks unity, collaboration

The new Chairman of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) in Lagos State, Ismail Adebayo, has called for unity and collaboration among members.

TheNewsZenith reports that Adebayo made the call in his acceptance speech after the Association’s Shurah (Selection) Committee announced him as the new chairman.

Adebayo also sought the support and continued guidance of former leaders of MULAN for the new team, to succeed.

Chairman of the Shurah (selection) Committee, Shakiru Obale, announced the appointment during the July edition of the association’s monthly meeting at Ikeja.

Obale gave a comprehensive nomination, screening and selection process that led to the formation of the 13-member executive team.

TheNewsZenith reports that the news executive team will run the Association’s affairs for the next two years.

Members of the team are drawn from different parts of the state and the Ministry of Justice.

Other members to support Adebayo are AbdulHakeem Jamiu, 1st Vice Chairman and Sofiyyullai Oladipo, 2nd Vice Chairman.

The team also includes Abdulrasheed Aliu, General Secretary; Mal. AbdulLateef GiyasuDeen, 1st General Assistant Secretary and Ismail Adegoke Aliyu 2nd Assistant Secretary among others.

The Shura Committee also made some recommendations to improve the efficiency of the new executive team and MULAN Lagos.

In his acceptance speech, Adebayo emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration among members. He sought their support and the continued guidance of former leaders.

Adewunmi Ismail Adebayo (LLB, BL, LLM) is a distinguished Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He is also the Principal Partner of A.I. Adebayo & Co.

The new MULAN Chairman brings extensive experience in commercial law, debt recovery, employment and property transactions.

Before the new appointment, Adebayo served MULAN Lagos in various capacities.

These positions included 2nd Vice-Chairman, Chairman of the Knowledge Sharing & Professional Development Committee and Secretary of the National Shurah Committee.
