Four fishermen have gone missing after huge waves hit their boats and sank in waters off Indonesia’s East Java province, according to an official of the local search and rescue agency on Tuesday.
A rescue team is still searching for the people who got missing on Monday evening, Yoni Fariza, the coordinator at Trenggalek Search and Rescue agency, told the local media.
The tragedy occurred at around 7.30 p.m. local time in the waters of Gladak Beach.
It happened at same location where two traditional boats sunk after being hit by high waves, said the official.
