The Police have confirmed the death of five children, who were suffocated in a car on Monday in Minna, Niger State.
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the Police received report of the incident by 6.30 p.m. on Sunday.
Abiodun said the children, aged between five and 13 years, got trapped in a Honda Civic car with registration No. GO 778 ABC at Gurara Albishir area of the state capital.
According to him, the Police had invited the owner of the car for questioning on the matter while an investigation was ongoing.

An anonymous source in the neighbourhood hinted that the children were playing in the car.
They mistakenly locked themselves in the abandoned car for several hours and got suffocated.
The source said the vehicle had remained on the spot for over two years.
It was gathered that the parents had raised alarm over the whereabouts of their children. They later discovered their bodies in the car on Sunday evening.
