Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has concluded arrangements for the maiden edition of it’s inter-departmental sports competitions.
TheNewsZenith reports that the sports event is scheduled to hold at FIFA Standard Pitch at the institution’s old site on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The university’s Director of sports, Prof. Rabiu Muhammad, announced this to sports writers in Kano.
Muhammad spoke on the level of preparation for the competition.
He affirmed that the university authority has provided all logistic supports for the competition.
”The University Sports Directorate is doing everything possible to ensure a colourful and hitch-free competitions.”
The director said the objective of the competitions is to enable the coaches to discover and recruit talent and skillful athletes for future national and international engagements.

”Buk has potential athletes who needed encouragement and support to excel at various sporting events,” he said.
Muhammad charged the participants to give the directorate all maximum support and cooperation with a view to actualise the set goal.
He assured that the directorate would do it’s best to ensure free and fair officiating throughout the championships.
He said the university’s vice chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, management and students will attend the opening ceremony.
