Abuja, Jan. 14, ’25 (TNZ) Sen. Shehu Sani blasted critics of President Bola Tinubu’s appointments, arguing they remained silent on former President Buhari’s failure.
TheNewsZenith recalls that Sani represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in 2015 – 2019.
The Senator recalled that former President Buhari gave appointments to all key institutions and ministries in the North.
He listed several appointments made by President Tinubu, including the Chief of Defence Staff, National Security Adviser, Ministers of Agriculture, Defence and Education, all from the North.
He argued that when Buhari was in power for 96 months, he failed to construct major roads, activate the Mambila power plant and dualise key highways in Northern Nigeria.
Despite these failures, Sani noted that Buhari’s supporters remained silent and refused to hold him accountable. “This is double standard”, he said.

He wondered why Buhari’s allies are now threatening President Tinubu with re-election.
The senator also criticised Buhari’s administration for spending billions of naira on agriculture without tangible results.
He expressed bitterness that the former president appointed Northerners who failed to serve the region’s interests.
Meanwhile, Sani’s statement has sparked a lively debate on social media, with many Nigerians weighing in on the issue.
While some have praised him for speaking truth to power, others criticised him for defending what they see as a lopsided appointment process.
However, Senator Sani’s argument has highlighted the hypocrisy and double standards of Buhari’s supporters. (Education Monitor)
