Breaking: Fire guts Lagos Blue Line track

A fire outbreak has occurred on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track at a spot opposite the NEPA Station, near the Eko Bridge, in the Apogbon area of Lagos State.

TheNewsZenith however, reports that there was no casualties.

In a statement, posted on X.com (Twitter) @gboyegakosile Gboyega Akosile, the spokesman for Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu,  said the incident occurred at 4.12 p.m. on Saturday.

Akosile also stated that there was no train service at the time of the incident.

He added that a team of safety and emergency personnel, along with other first responders, had completely extinguished the fire.

“Lagosians in that area can go about their business peacefully as the situation is under control.

“Kindly await further details on the operations of the train from @Lamataonline,” the governor’s spokesman tweeted.
