BUK promotes Lemo as Professor of Hadith

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has promoted Dr Sani Umar Rijiyar Lemo, to Professor of Hadith in the Islamic Studies department.

TheNewsZenith reports that Lemo’s promotion is contained in the university statement dated  Dec. 27.

He has been lecturing at the university for many years now. Lemo has a Master’s degree from the prestigious Islamic University of Madinah.

According to the statement, the promotion takes effect from October 2023.

TheNewsZenith recalls that Prof. Lemo has authored reputable books as a contribution to Islamic knowledge production.

These include Fayyataccen Bayani, a Tafseer of the Qur’an written in the Hausa language in 2020.

He also wrote Dhawābidhul Jarh wa Al-Ta’deel, Nabiyyur Rahmah, a biography of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

His other publications include Tamāmul Tawfeeq, a biography of the First Caliph Abubakar al-Siddeeq (RA) and Umarul Fāruq, a biography of the Second Caliph Umar Al-Fāruq (RA).

Lemo also authored Labarin Ɗaluta da Jaluta, a reflection of the Qur’anic story of Ṭālūt (Saul) and Goliath, taking lessons in leadership and politics.
