Doctor’s death: Sanwo-Olu suspends facilities manager

The Lagos State Government has suspended the General Manager of the Lagos State Infrastructure and Asset Management Agency.

This followed the submission of a preliminary report into the elevator crash at the State General Hospital, Odan on Lagos Island.

The elevator crash led to the death of a house officer, Dr Vwaere Diaso.

The State Government also sacked and blacklisted the facility management in charge of the Hospital Complex.

Similarly, the government has also handed over Installation and Maintenance engineers to the Police for further investigation and possible prosecution if found culpable in the accident.

The state has also decided to change the reporting line of the maintenance team at the hospital to involve the management of the hospital.
