The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has announced the passing of the ex-goalkeeper’s Super Falcons, Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni.
The demise of Aluko-Olaseni was announced on X platform, formerly called Twitter by NFF in a statement.
The Ekiti State-born goalkeeper reportedly died after battling cancer for eight years.
“We are sad to hear of the passing of former @NGSuper_Falcons goalkeeper, Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni after an eight-year battle with cancer.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May her gentle soul rest in peace,” the statement read.

In her lifetime, Aluko-Olaseni graced the field as an accomplished goalkeeper.
She was goalkeeper for the Falconet, Rivers Angel Keeper, Ekiti Babes, Sunshine Queens and Olgar Queens.
Other clubs she had kept for, were FCT Babes Alumna and Makbet Queens.
The family will soon announce her burial arrangements.
