The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) expelled six final-year students and 13 others over alleged examination malpractices and other related offences.
Mr Kunle Akogun, the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, announced the expulsion in a statement on Monday in Ilorin.
Their offences ranged from misconduct, theft, examination malpractice, hostel bed-space racketeering, extortion and assault to admission racketeering.
“The expulsion or rustication of the affected students followed the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee at its 220th/221st meeting,” Akogun stated.
The 13 other students expelled were either in their first year, second, third, or fourth year of their studies.
Some of them were expelled while others got rusticated either for a semester or one full academic session.
