New Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike on Monday, vowed to restore the Abuja master plan.
Wike, former Rivers governor, gave the pledge on assuming office, shortly after taking the oath of office at the Presidential Villa.
At his maiden press conference attended by directors and other top officials of the Ministry, Wike said he would revoke any undeveloped land in the FCT.
“Those who got land allocation but failed to develop it would have the land revoked,” he warned.
Wike also threatened to demolish buildings erected on green areas and those built without approval.
“All those who are distorting the master plan of Abuja, too bad. If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down.

“Be you a minister of anywhere, be you an ambassador, if you know you have developed where you are not supposed to develop, your house will go down.
“Those who have taken over the green areas to build, sorry, the green areas must come back.
“If you hate green, you must hate yourself. If your father has done that, sorry; if your mother has done that, sorry it will go down.
“And all these people who are doing land racketing, that period of land racketing is over,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris has said the duty of disseminating information about government “is a fruitful duty worthy of undertaking”.
Idris made the remarks while briefing newsmen after inauguration of new ministers in Abuja.

He said that the management of government information “is vital for the progress of the country nationally and internationally”.
Idris said that being truthful and effective as Minister of Information was essential to engender the trust of the people in various programmes and projects of the administration.
“As a minister of Information and National Orientation, I have the duty of telling Nigerians the truth.
“I need to show people the picture of what transpired about various programmes and projects of the administration in all sectors.
“The minister is to truthfully disseminate activities of the government. If you do that, then you are free with God and the people,’’ he said.
