The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has reiterated its commitment to deliver on its mandate of transforming Nigeria’s technology and innovation landscape.
Mr Khalil Suleiman Halilu, CEO of the Agency, gave this assurance at a two-day training for NASENI staff in Abuja. The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) organised the training.
Halilu said NASENI would maintain a steadfast focus on its 3Cs principles of Collaboration, Creation and Commercialisation.
This steadfastness, he said, would help to harness the power of technology, human skills and talents. In turn, it would help to deliver remarkable benefits to Nigeria on multiple fronts.
TheNewsZenith reports that the training focuses on the mandatory deployment of Self-Assessment Tools (SAT) for service delivery at NASENI.
According to Halilu, it is crucial to conduct a thorough assessment of performances in line with best practices.
“This is crucial to deliver NASENI’s mandate effectively.
“This tool enables organisations to evaluate themselves comprehensively, gaining insights into how effectively they are meeting their goals.
“BPSR has adopted a participatory focus group approach as the methodology for this tool, making it accessible to individuals across all levels of the Public Service,” he said.

NASENI boss, therefore, encourages participants to give their undivided attention and make the most use of the opportunity for self-assessment and growth.
He pointed out that NASENI stands to gain significant advantages from the implementation of SAT.
This will be by identifying its strengths and areas for improvement, enhancing professional practices and encouraging partnerships, among other benefits.
In his remarks, the Director-General of BPSR, Mr Dasuki Arabi said the Bureau initiated the tools for self-assessment, monitoring and evaluation of reforms in Ministries, Agencies and Departments (MDAs) for effective service delivery.
Arabi buttressed the directives of the Federal Government to BPSR, which is to carry out reforms on all the MDAs.
He noted that SAT is for planning, accountability and management of public funds and to ensure that the system is corrupt-free, especially in financial transactions.
He then called on NASENI, as a government agency, to embrace SAT in all its dealings. This, he said, will ensure that the agency delivers its mandates effectively.
