Due to the non-settling of interconnect charges, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has approved the disconnection of Exchange Telecommunications Limited (Exchange) from MTN Nigeria Communications Limited (MTN).
TheNewsZenith gathered that NCC has duly notified the Exchange about the application.
It noted that NCC also gave The Exchange, the opportunity to comment and state its case.
NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka, announced the disconnection approval in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
“The Commission, having examined the application and circumstances surrounding the indebtedness, determined that Exchange does not have sufficient reason for non-payment of the interconnect charges.
“Hence the Commission orders disconnection of Exchange to MTN under Section 100 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003.
