India announces schedule of Moon mission’s soft landing

The lander module of India’s ongoing Moon Mission-3, or Chandrayaan-3, will land on the lunar surface as scheduled on Aug. 23 at around 6.04 p.m. Indian Standard Time.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced the landing of Chandrayaan-3 on Sunday.

ISRO said in a statement that it will telecast the moment live on its website, besides state-run TV channel Doordarshan.

Various social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube will also air it.

The space agency launched the India’s Moon Mission-3 on July 14 and the lander module got separated from the spacecraft on Thursday.

It invited all schools and educational institutions across the South Asian country to actively publicise the Chandrayaan-3 soft landing among students.

The agency also urged the institutions to organise its live-streaming within their premises, the ISRO noted in the statement. (Xinhua)
