Gaza’s Civil Defence says five Palestinians, including two women and a child, died in an Israeli bombardment, on Monday.
The bombardment targeted a residential apartment building in the west of Gaza City.
Medical sources told Al Jazeera that the death toll from today’s attacks on the Gaza Strip is now 33.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces stopped a vehicle that was suspected of car-ramming near Israel’s border with Egypt, the Israeli army said.
“Our forces chased the suspect and are conducting searches in the area,” the army said.
According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, the incident is an attempt to smuggle drugs on the Egyptian border.
The attempt followed a shooting and also an attempt to run over Israeli soldiers.
The event comes just a day after a shooting by a Jordanian truck driver who killed three Israeli soldiers.
The killing occurred at the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge crossing between Jordan and the occupied West Bank.
In another report, Israeli forces opened live gunfire, targeting the homes of Palestinian citizens in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces fired live ammunition at houses, as well as light bombs in the area, the agency reported. No injuries were reported.
Elsewhere, in Bethlehem’s Husan village, Israeli forces seized the rooftop of a house and turned it into a military observation point, Wafa said.
Also, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) says the Gaza and North Gaza governorates are facing a severe shortage of fuel.
They needed the fuel to operate ambulances and emergency medical clinics, causing fears about a complete shutdown of services.
The PRCS said in a statement that its “teams in the two governorates have been suffering from a severe shortage in supplies for nearly three weeks”.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported the statement.
“This is in light of the occupation’s continued refusal to allow sufficient quantities of fuel to reach health service providers in Gaza and north Gaza.”
It added that medical facilities are being run at the lowest operational capacity.
“This constitutes a major obstacle to the crews in providing their services and deepens the humanitarian and health catastrophe the two governorates are suffering from,” PRCS stated. (Al Jazeera)
