An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, sentenced a 29-year-old man, Adegboro Wale, to one-year imprisonment for theft.
The trial Magistrate, Mr Bankole Oluwasanmi, sentenced the convict following the establishment of his guilty plea.
Wale’s guilty plea is based on the facts of the case and available evidence before the court.
The prosecutor, Insp Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the convict committed the offence on Nov. 20, 2022, at about 6.50 p.m. at Rose Bud Oke- Ila Street in Ado-Ekiti.
According to Oriyomi, the convict stole a range of items with costs running into several thousands of naira.
Items stolen include Bajaj motorcycle valued at N550,000 and a cell phone valued at N15,000 with one short nicker valued N3,000.

Others items stolen were a shirt valued at N4,000 and one clipper valued at N10,000 belonging to one Opeyemi Egunjobi.
He said the complainant knew the convict and that he had demanded some money from him to eat.
The prosecutor went further to say that the complainant took Wale to his house to eat.
He said the complainant went inside to take his bath and before he could knew it, the convict has carted away his properties.
Oriyomi added that the convict confessed to the crime, telling the court that he had sold the items.
Prosecutor said the offence contravened Section the Ekiti State Criminal law of 2021.
