Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, gubernatorial candidate of Lagos PDP in the 2023 general elections, has called for diligence in the investigation into the death of an Afrobeats musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba.
Adediran (a.k.a JANDOR) made the call in a statement issued by Gbenga Ogunleye, Head of Media and Communications for JANDOR4GOVERNOR Campaign Organisation, on Tuesday in Lagos.
He said Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, reportedly died on Sept. 12 in a circumstance “shrouded in secrecy and foul play.
“There are widespread allegations of complicity involving some key players in the music industry”.
He described the incident and attendant public outcry on attempts to cover up the matter as drawback to entertainment industry.
Adediran urged law enforcement agencies to unravel the truth about the circumstances leading to the death of the musician.
“The Police should ensure justice by carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death,” he stated.
The PDP flagbearer laments the untimely death of such a budding talent. And the anxiety among music fans on the perceived shady undercutting going on in the entertainment industry.
“This is a big blow to the image of our music industry,” he said.
Adediran commiserates with the family and fans of the late Mohbad. He prayed that God should give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
