Bauchi, Jan. 4 ’25 (TNZ) The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has called for workable collaboration with Nigerian Air Force (NAF) veterans to address the country’s security challenges.
TheNewsZenith reports that Abubakar made the call during a meeting with veterans as part of the NAF Base Socio-Cultural Activities (BASA) in Bauchi on Saturday.
Air Vice Marshal Edward Grabwet, the Director of Coordination and Cooperation Civil-Military Relations, represented Abubakar at the event.
The CAS highlighted the significance of veterans as a repository of knowledge and experience.
He spoke glowingly on the importance of tapping into the knowledge and experiences of its veterans. According to him, this is to enhance the nation’s peace and security.
Abubakar urged the veterans to share their input towards addressing the country’s challenges and fostering a sense of unity within the NAF.
“Veterans are important assets to the service. We recognise the wealth of knowledge and experience they possess.
“We need your input on how to address the challenges facing our country. Also, we are working on how to bring us back together as a family,” TheNewsZenith quotes him as saying.

The CAS reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to upholding peace and security in Nigeria.
This, he added, is in alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to him, the service has invested in platforms and infrastructure to eliminate criminal elements in the country.
He noted that NAF was working to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
Also speaking, AVM Enebong Effiong, Air Officer Commanding, Special Operations Command, Bauchi, pleaded with veterans to provide their expertise towards improving NAF services.
He urged them to share their insights towards improving NAF services, adding that,
“Your experience and knowledge are invaluable to us,” Effiong said, urging the veterans to share their insights to improve NAF services.
