On Thursday, the Cote d’Ivoire Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) announced that it has added more than 940,000 new voters to the electoral list.
Bamba Siaka, the fourth Vice President of the CEI, said at a press conference that to date, the CEI added 943,157 individuals seeking first-time registration, to the electoral list.
In addition to the new registrants, 517,924 individuals on the electoral list requested a change of voting location or modifications to their personal information, Siaka said.

Furthermore, the CEI recorded 1,207 requests for the removal of voters presumed deceased during the electoral list revision operation from Oct. 19 to Nov. 17.
Following the completion of the registration phase, the CEI will proceed to process the data and produce a provisional electoral list.
The list will be displayed at all polling stations to initiate the contestation period.
