NEDC hands over cattle market to BASG

The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has handed over the new Soro International Cattle Market in Ganjuwa Local Government Area to the Bauchi State Government.

TheNewsZenith reports that NEDC’s Executive Director of Operations, Abdulsalam Yahaya Ahmed, performed the official handover of the market.

Ahmed remarked that the market was part of the commission’s efforts to promote economic activities in the North East subregion following the devastation arising from the insurgency.

He said the commission “is confident that the cattle market will boost business in the state”.

This is, considering that the market is one of the biggest cattle sales points in the state.

Ahmed commended Gov. Bala Mohammed for providing the land for the market.

He also praised the state government for providing a conducive environment for the execution of various developmental projects in the state.

The Managing Director of NEDC, Mohammed Goni Alkali, said the market’s design makes it a major source of revenue and employment opportunities for the people.

Gov. Muhammad commended the Commission for the various interventions executed in the state.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Commerce and Industry represented the governor at the occasion.

Muhammad said the cattle market would improve the state’s revenue base and Ganjuwa LGA in particular.
