Lagos. Feb. 22, ’25 (TNZ) The new Police Commissioner in Lagos State, Olohundare Jimoh, on Saturday, met with all Tactical Commanders in the Command.
TheNewsZenith reports that CP Jimoh charged the officers to sustain the onslaught against crimes and criminals.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s Spokesman, related the CP’s meeting with the commanders in a statement, obtained by TheNewsZenith.
The CP charged the commanders to further reduce the crime rate in Lagos State to the barest level.
This, he said is in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Jimoh, however, warned the commanders to uphold the human rights of all Nigerians at all times.
”Any officer found violating the human rights of any individual will be dealt with in accordance with police regulations and the laws of the land, ” TheNewsZenith quotes the CP as saying.

He declared that the state command has zero tolerance for maltreatment of suspects in detention.
The Commissioner warned all officers with detention facilities to diligently observe the police procedures for the care and custody of suspects in their detentions.
Jimoh directed that suspects should promptly be charged to court within the statutory stipulated time by the law.
”The meeting is coming less than a week into the resumption of CP Olohundare Jimoh on Tuesday, Feb. 18, as 41st Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command.
In his maiden speech, the CP assured the government and people of Lagos State of optimum Police service delivery.
The command will ensure the safety, protection and security of all Lagosians At all times,” the statement further read in part. (TNZ)
