The chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has applauded the Bauchi State Government for appointing a Focal Point Officer for the State Diaspora.
The NewsZenith reports that the State Diaspora Focal Point Officer is Dr Esther Ahmed.
The Secretary to NIDCOM, Dr Sule Yakubu Bassi gave the commendation while receiving Ahmed on behalf of the NIDCOM Boss, on Thursday in Abuja.
Bassi urged the new Officer to be pragmatic, diligent and forward-thinking in building relationships with the Bauchi indigenes in Diaspora.
According to him, this is to ensure effective grassroots engagement and Development National.

The secretary remarked that the Commission “is ready to work with the state for a successful tripartite engagement”.
Earlier, Ahmed commended the NiDCOM for making giant strides in coordinating the activities of Nigerians in the diaspora.
The Focal Point Officer said she would deploy the necessary strategies to relate with Bauchi people in the Diaspora.
TheNewsZenith gathered that Bauchi is the 13th state that has appointed a State Diaspora Focal Point Officer.
Adamawa, Anambra, Benue, Ebonyi, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Lagos, Nasarawa, Plateau, Yobe, Zamfara and FCT have already appointed focal officers coordinating their respective diaspora activities.
