Lagos, April 11, ’25 (TNZ) The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has warned the general public about a sunken Dredger located at Eko Bridge near Ebute Ero jetty.
TheNewsZenith reports that NIWA gave the warning in a statement issued on Thursday in Lagos.
It stated that the sunken dredger “is a potential threat to navigational safety and environmental stability.
“The incident, which took place on Saturday, March 29, poses a hazard to river crafts navigating the area.
“This is especially so during low tide or poor visibility conditions.

“We urge all fishermen and boat operators to exercise caution when operating near the affected area.
“Warning signs and markers are being installed in collaboration with NIWA and marine safety officials.
“Until proper removal or mitigation steps are taken, avoiding the vicinity is strongly advised,” TheNewsZenith quotes the Authorities as stating.
