Retired Maj.-Gen. Tajudeen Olanrewaju has felicitated with former President Muhammadu Buhari, who clocked 81 years on Dec. 17.
This is in a press statement Olanrewaju signs and e-mail to TheNewsZenith, on Sunday in Lagos.
In the statement, Olanrewaju, former Minister of Communications and Member of the Provisional Ruling Council (PRC) eulogised Buhari, describing him as a respected leader.
“Being one of your successors as General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Armoured Division Nigeria Army, I thank you and wish you well on your birthday,”
“My Commander-in-Chief, I found this occasion of your 81st birthday anniversary a long-awaited opportunity for me to thank you.
“I thank you for granting me a presidential pardon and restoring my dignity as a fully-fledged Retired Army Major General,” the statement read in part.

According to him, the world noticed Buhari’s leadership, both as a military and democratically elected President of Nigeria, for good.
“I congratulate my Commander-in-Chief Gen. Buhari. He left the seat of power sane and happy in a nation with many challenges.
“He removed the stains in my public records and restored my dignity with the presidential pardon at this twilight time of my life.
“I want to wish you well and pray to Almighty Allah to give you longevity and keep him well.
“Thank you, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. Happy birthday, General,” Olanrewaju saluted.
