The Sokoto State Female Education Board (SSFEB) in collaboration with Greenmedia Digital Academy, a non-profit organisation is set to train 500 female students on digital and life-enhancing skills.
TheNewsZenith reports that the Board’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Mustapha Namakka, announced this, on Sunday, in Sokoto.
Namakka spoke at the graduation of 35 students who underwent a free training scheme organised by the Academy.
He said the board designed the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training programme for female students across the state.
The ES added that Gov. Ahmad Aliyu had approved the initiative, which is captured in the budget.
He reiterated the board’s readiness to partner with Greenmedia Academy on the exercise.
He stressed the training would be in a modular format, to prepare the students for future challenges.
Also speaking, Mr Imran Muhammad from the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy, said the ministry would partner with the Academy in training youths in ICT.
Muhammad charged the graduating students to continue to search for more knowledge, especially in the area of ICT.

Earlier, the Executive Director of Life Legacy Training School, Prince Babatunde Omolehin, said the graduating sets were the fourth batch of the training programme.
Omolehin said the free ICT training school began in 2022 to contribute to the education development of youths in Sokoto State.
“Over these years, the academy has partnered with various non-profit and corporate organisations to train young girls and persons with disabilities on various ICT tools across Sokoto state.
“In 2022, the academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN), a social digital inclusion organisation.
“The MoU is to implement PIN’s Life Legacy Programme.
“So far, we have trained 200 youths on ICT tools such as website design, graphic design, multimedia tools, data analysis and digital marketing.
“These have greatly impacted the life of the youths,” TheNewsZenith quotes Omolehin as saying.
