Vice-President Kashim Shettima says President Bola Tinubu has approved the proposal to establish a Federal University in Southern Kaduna.

Shettima announced the approval when he paid a condolence visit to Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto.

TheNewsZenith reports that the Kukah family lost a royal father, Yohanna Kukah, the Agwom Akulu of Ikulu Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The vice president also said the Federal Government is currently making arrangements to establish a federal medical centre in Kafanchan.

“With Sen. Sunday Katung and the members of the House of Representatives, we have reached out to President Bola Tinubu.

“He (Tinubu) has consented to the establishment of a federal university in Southern Kaduna,” TheNewsZenith quotes the VP as saying.

Shettima reiterated the commitment of President Tinubu’s administration to the development of Southern Kaduna.

He cited the appointment of Gen. Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff as evidence of the President’s attention to the security needs of the region.

“Be rest assured that President Tinubu has the people of Kaduna and the people of Southern Kaduna at heart,” he added.
