Gov. Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the immediate suspension of the Village Head of Garin Majidadi in Akko Local Government Area, Mohammed Majidadi.
TheNewsZenith reports that the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi announced the suspension in a statement, on Friday, in Gombe.
Similarly, the Akko Local Government Council, also suspended the Councillor representing Kumo East Ward, Abdullahi Panda.
The suspension of the counsellor is on the authority of the Gombe State Local Government (Amendment) Law, 2013.
Both suspensions came in the wake of recent developments involving the two officials on allegation of theft.
TheNewsZenith reports that the Police Command had earlier paraded the duo over allegations of conspiracy in the theft and sale of the community electricity transformer.

According to the statement, both officers are currently facing trial over allegations of conspiracy.
The SSG stated that the suspension was a preventive measure to ensure that there is no interference in the legal process.
Gov. Inuwa Yahaya stressed the commitment of his government to always upholding the rule of law in all state matters.
He expressed confidence that justice would prevail and that the law will take its course against the duo and others like them.
