Tunisia’s maritime guards found 15 bodies of undocumented immigrants in the eastern coastal province of Mahdia over the weekend, Tunisian Radio Mosaique FM reported on Monday.
Among these bodies, eight have shore in Salakta, six in Chebba and one in Melloulech, a report said.
The report cited Farid Ben Jha, the spokesperson for the Courts of Mahdia and Monastir.
Ben Jha provided no additional information regarding the identities of the bodies.

He, however, noted that authorities have launched an investigation to determine the causes of death.
The spokesperson announced that the decomposing bodies had been transferred to a hospital for necessary procedures to determine their identities.
