Five months after Ghana announced its plans, it is set to launch 5G services on Nov. 1.
TheNewsZenith reports that this is a significant step for the old Gold Coast country, aiming to become fully digital by 2030.
By that year, Ghana will provide fast and affordable mobile broadband to everyone, no matter where they are.
This rollout is made possible through a collaboration between the Ghanaian government and tech giants like Ascend Digital, K-NET, Nokia, Radisys, and Tech Mahindra.
All of them are working to build a solid digital infrastructure in the country.
As the launch date approaches, there’s a buzz about how 5G could transform daily life and open up opportunities across various sectors in Ghana.

But here’s a thought — isn’t the country a bit late to the 5G party in Africa?
The adoption of 5G technology in Africa has been a mixed bag.
Some countries like South Africa and Kenya, have been quick to roll out 5G services, while others are still catching up.
The adoption has been slower in many regions due to factors like infrastructure challenges, regulatory hurdles and the high costs associated with deploying new technology.
However, as more countries recognise the potential of 5G, we’re likely to see a faster rollout in the coming years.
