The National Teachers Institute (NTI), Kaduna says it will establish an additional study centre for the degree programmes in the Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
NTI Coordinator in the state, Hajiya Aishatu Usman, announced this to newsmen in Yola on Wednesday.
The centre is designed to admit over 60 students, who will begin academic activities in the 2022/2023 session, Usman said.
According to her, 241 students are currently undergoing degree programmes in the institute’s Yola and Mubi study centres,
She listed the programmes to include Arts and Education with specialisation in Social Studies, Science/Education and Health education among others.
The institute had trained 8,640 students, out of which 599 are under the Pivotal Teacher Training Programme (PTTP), she said.
Also, Usman said that 2,151 students and 5890 others obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Nigeria Certificate in Education respectively.
The institute is running the programmes in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Teachers Registration Council (TRCN) and the Federal Ministry of Education under the Borno, Yobe and Adamawa (BYA) education initiative.
