Adamawa State Government, Wednesday, distributed relief items to victims of windstorms and floods in the Demsa Local Government Area.
Distributing the materials, the Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, said the gesture was to cushion the effect of the disasters.
Farauta said that 20 other affected local government areas would benefit from the gesture.
She said the government understood the challenges facing the victims.
The deputy governor described the gesture as a demonstration of love, compassion and empathy.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr Muhammed Suleiman, Executive Secretary, of Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items.
Sulaiman warned them against selling the items.
He listed relief items distributed to include rice, maize, guinea corn, mats, detergents, cement, roofing sheets and nails among others.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Micheal Dimas, thanked the government for the gesture.
