Suspected ritualists have killed a 17-year-old girl, Chinasa Adigwe from Umueje village in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State.

TheNewsZenith reports the gruesome murder has shaken the entire Umueje community in the state.

Residents woke up to find the lifeless body of late Adigwe in a bush at Omasi village.

Eyewitness account said the perpetrators removed her private parts, sparking suspicions of ritual activities.

Police spokesperson in the state, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday.

Tochukwu stated that the State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered an immediate investigation into the murder.

”The body of the deceased, identified as Chinasa Adigwe, was found in a bush at Omasi village in Ayamelum Local Government Area of the State.

”Her private parts were cut off before resident alerted the Police,” TheNewsZenith quotes the Police as stating.

He stated that operatives of the command have recovered and deposited the body at a nearby morgue.

”The Police found the girl’s lifeless body in a bush at Omasi village on 6/10/2024 by 4.25 p.m.

”Resident later identified her as one Chinasa Adigwe from Umueje village.

”The hoodlums cut off her private parts and dump her body in a bush at Omasi Village before residents alerted the Police.

”Operatives have recovered and deposited her body  in a morgue.

”The CP condoled with the family, friends and community of the deceased.

He assured that the Police shall do everything possible to arrest those behind the barbaric act and bring them to justice.”
