A/Ibom indigenes in S/Africa support Gov. Eno’s agenda

The South African-based Akwa Ibom indigenes under the aegis of Akwa Ibom Indigenes Organisation South Africa (AIIOSA), have pledged their support to Gov. Umo Bassey Eno’s administration’s drive for strong economic and rural development.

ThenewsZenith reports that the indigenes gave the pledge during the inauguration of a new Executive Committee to pilot the affairs of the organisation in the coming years.

AIIOSA National Public Relations Officer, Mr Victor Nkang, said in a statement that members of the committee, led by Dr Akaninyene Friday Willie, the National President elected on Nov. 10.

The committee was inaugurated on Dec. 7 at the End-of-Year Celebration/Award Ceremony in Sandton, Johannesburg.

In his inaugural speech, Willie praised the excellent vision of Gov. Umo Bassey Eno’s The Arise Agenda.

“Business development is on the way to promote strong economic partnerships within and outside the state, rural development, women and youth empowerment.

“We pledged our support to participate in the economic development of our state and Nigeria at large.

he said the gathering offered them the opportunity to have a cursory look at the History of Akwa Ibom State.

Other members of the new committee are Mr Paul Usen (National Vice-President), Mrs Saloshini P. Naidoo (National General Secretary) and Mr Ekerette Tim Umoh (National Financial Secretary).

It also has Mr Reuben Inyang (Assistant National Financial Secretary), Mr Ntakobong Udoidiong (National Treasurer), Mr Felix Edet Okon (National Provost) and Mr Moris Essien (National Ex-Officio) among others.
