Farmers body gets new spokesman in Akwa Ibom

The All Farmer’s Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Akwa Ibom State Chapter, has appointed a new Head of Media to handle it’s Publicity and media relations.

The new spokesman is Mr Samuel Akpan, the immediate past General Manager of Inspiration 105.9 FM, Uyo.

 

Mr Samuel Akpan, the new Head of Media for the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Akwa Ibom State chapter.

The State Chairman of AFAN, Prince Bassey Inwang, announced the appointment in a statement emailed to TheNewsZenith on Wednesday.

He said Akpan ”will bringing in a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years in the media industry”.

”The Spokesman will help shape AFAN’s image by ensuring that all its activities are adequately captured by media houses beyond the state.

Akpan, a member of the prestigious Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) and the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) is also an Organic Poultry farmer.

He was the Producer/Presenter of the Agriculture programme known as “Agriculture and You” on radio in Akwa Ibom State.

He was also the first Channels Television Correspondent in the Niger Delta Region based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Akpan was also former Head of News of AIT & Raypower FM in Port Harcourt. He later joined Love FM Crowther Radio, Abuja as General Manager/Head of Station.

The AFAN Chairman enjoined the new Media Head to work assiduously towards the visibility of the Association in the State.
