Lagos, Sept. 23, ’25 (TNZ) The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, on Monday reiterated its commitment to safeguarding assets that underpin the nation’s safety, stability, and economic well-being.
TheNewsZenith reports that the security outfit committed while launching its State-Level Coordination Meeting on the Protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).
Lagos State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Keshinro Adedotun, said the CNAI aligned with the 2024 National Protection Policy and Strategy (NPPS).
The summit took place at the IHS facility in Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lagos.
It forms part of the implementation framework directed by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and endorsed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Delivering a keynote address, the Lagos State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Keshinro Adedotun, highlighted Lagos as a vital hub hosting some of the nation’s most critical infrastructure.
“Our seaports, airports, energy facilities, telecommunications hubs, financial institutions, and major transport corridors make Lagos both a national strength and a prime target for hostile actors.
“This coordination summit allows us to join forces in safeguarding those assets that underpin our safety, stability, and economic well-being,” TheNewsZenith quoted Adedotun as stating.
Welcoming participants to the facility, the Chief Corporate Services Officer of IHS, Mr Dapo Otunla, commended the command and other agencies for their proactive engagement.

“This roundtable is an opportunity to deepen inter-agency collaboration and develop lasting solutions to protect our collective critical assets and infrastructure across Nigeria,” he said.
The event featured goodwill messages and contributions from major stakeholders, including the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Nigeria Police Force.
Others were the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), EFCC, ICPC, and others.
Participants commended NSCDC Lagos for convening the meeting and emphasised the need for a more robust framework that would expand participation to additional stakeholders, including traditional and religious institutions.
They agreed that the recommendations from the summit will feed into a broader communiqué to strengthen the implementation of CNAI–NPPS nationwide.
A wide range of stakeholders across the security, energy, telecommunications, financial, and civil sectors attended the summit.
Others included the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, DSS, NIS, NCoS, Federal Fire Service, EFCC, ICPC, MTN, Airtel, NEMSA, NDLEA, NOA, MENJ Oil, Fibre One, EKEDC, FAAN, Ikeja Electricity, Scrap Dealers Association, and many more. (TNZ)
