Lagos, July 28, ’26 (TNZ) The Muslim Lecturers Association of Nigeria (MLA) at the weekend, took practical steps to rebrand its image by unveiling a new logo.

Our Correspondent reports that the association unveil the new logo during a virtual ceremony, held via Zoom.
The theme of the event is “Identity, Knowledge and Service: Unveiling the New Face of MLA Nigeria.”
It brought together members of the association from across the country to reflect on the significance of the new corporate identity.
TheNewsZenith further reports that the Muslim lecturers also ruminated over the association’s role in promoting academic excellence, ethical leadership, and national development.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Association’s President Prof. AbdWasiu Ajagbe, described the event as a significant milestone in the MLA’s journey.
“The new logo represents a renewed vision, fresh energy, and a strengthened commitment to excellence.
The rebranding reflects the association’s strategic direction.
“And, it will be integrated across all our programmes, communication platforms, partnerships, and overall operations,” TheNewsZenith quotes Alagbe as stating.

He added that the development is aimed at repositioning MLA for greater impact and relevance.
The President also reiterated the core objectives of the association.
These include fostering mentorship, promoting networking among members, and advancing intellectual and professional development.
He urged members to remain committed to the growth of the association.
These, he noted are possble by members’ commitment, contribution of ideas, resources, and active participation.
“This unveiling signifies a new spirit, serving Allah through scholarship and purpose,” he said.
A representative of the Council of Guidance, Prof. Tajudeen Yusuf of the University of Lagos, also spoke at the ceremony.

Yusuf described the initiative as a step beyond mere rebranding. He explained that MLA is positioning itself as a strategic platform for Muslim scholars across the country.
He highlighted the need to bridge gaps within academic spaces and encouraged members to remain relevant by actively engaging in platforms that promote both academic excellence and Islamic identity.
The immediate past president of the association, Prof. Ahmed Adedeji, called for collective support from members and stakeholders.
Adedeji expressed optimism about the success of the new initiative. He emphasised the importance of unity and shared purpose.
Dr Kamorudeen Salaudeen, MLA Director of Information, Publicity and Community Service, spoke on the rationale behind the redesigned logo.
TheNewsZenith quotes Salaudeen as explaining that the previous logo had served its purpose.
He, however, noted that inconsistencies in its usage and design necessitated a change.
He noted that the new logo addresses issues of public image, consistency, integrity, and digital visibility, thereby strengthening the association’s identity.
The association also used the opportunity to announce its forthcoming National Research Conference.
The four-day conference will hold at the Fountain University, Osogbo, from Oct. 26. (TNZ)
