Lagos, March 30, ’26 (TNZ) The game of Teqball is gaining momentum across Nigeria, according to Mr Halim Zaccah Adebola, Chairman of the Teqball Association of Rivers State.
TheNewsZenith reports that Adebola made the assertion in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Port Harcourt at the weekend.
According to him, many states have embraced the game.
“Eighteen states participated in the first National Teqball League held in Aba, Abia State.
“Teqball is becoming very popular in the country. Abia State has made significant progress in the game and currently has more than 25 Teqball boards.

“These boards were used during the first National Teqball League, and they served as an eye-opener for other states,” TheNewsZenith quotes the chairman as saying.
Adebola also said that the proprietor of the Remo Stars Football Club had promised to build a mini Teqball stadium in Ogun State.
He noted that the development would further boost the growth of the sport in the state.
Speaking on Team Rivers’ performance at the league, Adebola said the team finished second overall, winning two gold medals and one bronze medal.
According to him, the team won medals in four of the five categories featured at the competition.
He commended the Abia State Government for hosting the league and also commended the Rivers State Government for supporting the association.
He, however, appealed for more funding and improved infrastructure to further develop the sport. (TNZ)
