Beach Volleyball Tour: Games Village wipe Kada Kings 2-0

Games village Club (GVC) of the Abuja male team has maintained a 100 per cent unbeaten record at the second phase of the Beach Volleyball Tour in Abuja on Sunday.

GVS defeated Kaduna Kings ( KD Kings) of Kaduna 2-0 (21-12,21-12 ) in the male category.
This defeat has made it the second time for GVC to continue its unbeaten run in the tour.
GVC defeated  KD Kings 2-0, proving they are a stronger team and on a penetrating team as they won the first set with 21-12 points.
KD Kings put up a solid fight to see if they could win the second set but the dangerous GVC  did not give room for any retaliation in the second set as they make their way to a victory of  21-12 points.
Speaking after the match, the Captain of GVC, Simeon Ilari, expressed joy over his team’s victory in the game.
“It was a tough match earlier today, we met with Nigeria Customs Service ( NCS) in a crucial game and beat them 2-0.
“Then, meeting with KD Kings, the team have a good set of players.
“We were able to read our opponent’s motive and we tap into their errors to succeed in our games,” he said.
 He said that Beach volleyball is growing daily; with this new initiative introduced, having competitions of this magnitude has been helpful and this is the first time in the history of Nigeria.
“We were able to achieve greater heights and we appreciate the organisers for organising the competition.
“The third phase is coming up in Lagos on Dec. 20. Our target is to continue to set the record as we did in the first and second phase.
“We want to keep that spirit to maintain on the top and unbeaten,” Ilari said.
In another male match played, the Taraba club beat the Caliphate of Sokoto 2-0 ( 21-15,21-12).
Samba club lost to Equity spikers 11-21, 18-21 to end the game 0-2 and Nigeria Correction Service lost to Kada stars 1-2 (21-14,19-21,12-15).
In the first phase of the tour held in July in Yola Adamawa, GVC  came first in the male category.
The tour is being hosted by the Nigeria Beach volleyball Federation (NBVF).
Sixteen teams participated in the second phase of the beach volleyball tour in both the Male and Female categories.
which started on Monday and end today (Nov.13 ) at the National Beach Volleyball Center, Jabi Lake Abuja.
