Breaking: Inferno claims 6 lives in Lagos

No fewer than six persons have been confirmed dead in a fire outbreak, on Tuesday, at the Adeola Odeku area of Victoria Island, Lagos.

An eye witness said that the fire gutted a building suspected to be occupied by a bank in the area and that an unspecified number of vehicles were seen burning in the inferno.

Some patrol vans belonging to Lagos crime bursting security unit RRS were reported cited among vehicles consumed by the inferno.

It was gathered that a Fire Service truck from the nearby Eko Hotel and Suites, which mobilised to put the inferno under check was disallowed by angry bystanders and chased the truck away.

At the time of this report, it was not clear if the fire outbreak had been brought under control.
