Breaking: Suspected hoodlums set INEC office ablaze in Ogun

Suspected arsonists have reportedly set ablaze one of the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at Iyana Mortuary area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The arsonists were said to have soaked loaves of bread with petrol and thrown them into the building.

The NewsZenith gathered that policemen from Ibara Police Division in Abeokuta were mobilised to put out the fire.

It was also gathered that the Registration Area Officer’s office and the conference room of INEC in Abekuta South Local Government, were affected by the inferno.

A source hinted that non-sensitive materials were also affected by the fire.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Niyi Ijalaye, confirmed the incident.
