Cameroon qualifies for U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have qualified for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for Algeria in April.

The lions obtained the qualification after beating Congo 2-0 on Sunday at the ongoing Central African Football Federations’ Union (UNIFFAC) tournament.

The tournament, which kicked off in Cameroon on Friday, serves as zonal qualifiers for the teams in the region for U-17 AFCON.

Cameroon heads to Algeria as defending champions after winning the title in 2019.

The Central African nation won the title for the first time in 2003.
