A former member of the Flying Eagles team, Mike Onyemachara who won a silver medal in Saudi Arabia in 1989, is dead.
Onyemachara reportedly passed away on Thursday, May 4.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
But unconfirmed account indicated that he might have died in his three-bedroom apartment in Ajegunle area of Lagos.
Some of his close teammates recounted that he had been complaining of back pain in recent times.
Onyemachara was known for his skill as a defender.
He played most of his games with First Bank of Lagos.
He was also a valuable member of the Saudi 89 Flying Eagles team.
