He was a committed party man –  Agbi

The Deputy National Chairman South of Consolidated APC Grassroots Movement (CAGraM), Dr Stephen Agbi, has commiserated with the family of Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu over his death.

TheNewsZenith reports that Akeredolu died in the early hours of Wednesday at the age of 67, after a protracted illness.

In a press statement, on Thursday, Agbi described the late governor as an accomplished professional and a committed party man.

He seulogised Akeredolu’s was commitment to the growth and development of the people of Ondo State.

The CAGraM leader urge members of the family to remain steadfast and strong in these trying times.

“This is a sad development. I, therefore, commisserated with the good people of Ondo State over the loss of a dynamic governor, who served the state diligently,” TheNewsZenith quotes Agbi as stating.

“This means that the deputy governor will now become the substantive governor.”

He, therefore, advised the new Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to follow the footsteps of late Akeredolu.

Agbi stressed the need for Aiyedatiwa to improve on legacies Akeredolu left behind.

He prayed that God would give him and thegood people of the state, the fortitude to bear the loss.

TheNewsZenith reports that news of the death of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, as he is foundly called, has left the people of the state in shock and heartbroken.

A senior government official had announced the passage of the governor in early hour of Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Since then, Notable Nigerians, political associates and friends have been sending condolence messages and prayers to comfort the family and the people of the state.
