Ijebu-Igbo Muslims appoint Rowaiye as new Giwa Adinni

Ijebu-Igbo (Ogun), Dec. 25, ’25 (TNZ) The Ijebu-Igbo Muslim Community in Ogun State has announced the appointment  of a new ‘Giwa Adinnin’. He is Dr Jamiu Adegbenro Rowaiye.

TheNewsZenith reports that Sheikh Muhammad Badejo, Grand Chief Imam of Ijebu-Igbo, announced appointment of the new Giwa Adinni, recently.

Badejo, who is also the Chairman League of Imams and Alfas Ijebu-Igbo Constituency, conveyed the appointment through a letter after thorough screening.

TheNewsZenith gathered that the Rowaiye’s official confirmation and presentation to the Muslim community, took place after Jummat service at the Ijebu Igbo Central Mosque, Oke-Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo.

Presenting him, the Grand Chief Imam described Rowaiye as a very prominent and practicing muslim.

“Dr Jamiu has very interesting islamic pedigree and he is a successful technocrat.

“He is a resourceful professional, a community leader, and a philanthropist.

“It is on this premises that the Ijebu-Igbo Central Mosque leadership approve his appointment.

“Insha Allah, he would continue to uphold the tenets and principles of Islam, serve the muslim community with more dedication and selflessness for the community prosperity,” TheNewsZenith quotes Badejo as saying.

In his response, Rowaiye accepted the new position with warmth interest and good conscience.

“I see the new office as “a great responsibility and significance and I promise not to disappoint the Ijebu Igbo Muslim Community.

“Insha Allah, I will continue to uphold the tenets and principles of Islam, serve the muslim community with more dedication and selflessness for her prosperity.

“As a stakeholder through the new status in Ijebu-Igbo, I want to assure the entire Ijebu-Igbo community that I will join his hands with other muslim leaders to promote good interfaith relationship.

“Jointly, we will also promote peaceful co-existence, community development, and progress,” TheNewsZenith quotes him as saying.

TheNewsZenith reports that Rowaiye was born into the esteemed Rowaiye family of Japara, Ijebu-Igbo, over four decades ago.

He has deep roots in Oke-Sopen through his grandpaternal lineage, making him a proud son of the community.

An astute entrepreneur in the agribusiness, Rowaiye is a distinguished Animal Scientist and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Five Thousand Golden Eggs Limited.

Alhaji Rowaye is actively serving in The Muslim Congress (TMC) as the Assistant Secretary General, Ogun State Chapter and Wakil (leader) of the organisation in Abeokuta North Local Government Chapter.

He is happily married and blessed with children. (TNZ)
