A foundation, ‘Lifted Hands’, says it will treat 5000 patients under its free medical outreach programmes in three states this year.
The Coordinator of Lifted Hands, Moses Okaro, announced this in a statement emailed to TheNewsZenith on Saturday in Lagos.
Okaro stated that the ‘2024 Outreach’ hold in Anambra, Abia and Lagos states.
He recalled that last year, the foundation treated more than 2000 patients in Anambra state.
”Our outreach will extend to Abia and Lagos state this year, in addition to Anambra state where we started in 2023.
The coordinator said the outreach will start from Anambra, for four days from July 17.
’’From Ogidi centre in Anambra, we will move to Abia and and end in Lagos.
”The 2024 outreach will most importantly, include eye surgeries and other medical care.
”This year, we have been arranged with some hospitals and medical doctors in Nigeria that will conduct the follow-up on patients,” he said.
Lifted Hands Inc. is an organisation that has a history of providing the needs for people in Nigeria.
”We will engage more than 20 doctors and 40 nurses during our missions.
”In 2023, our mission in Nigeria was very successful as there was huge response.

”We provided blood pressure screenings, diabetes screening and eye screenings. Many people received prescribed eyeglasses, in addition to the screenings.
“We provided medications, clothes, food and health education. Our medics provided emotional support and information to help people live healthy lifestyles.
”After the mission, the medical professionals in Nigeria gathered the information needed for treatment of patients.
”They partnered with the American medical professionals to process several treatments on patients,” Okaro said.
He explained that the foundation used information gathered during the 2023 retreat to determine treatments for patients who had their blood sugar and blood pressure numbers high.
”We paid for participants to be seen at their residential hospitals for additional services”.
He stated that the outreach would lead a team of medical professionals and other volunteers to Nigeria for the 2024 mission.
”Our aim for the 2024 mission in Nigeria, is to record greater achievements than the year before in the aspect of impacting even more lives.
“Our team will provide basic medical care and education to hundreds of families in several impoverished villages.
” In addition, we will include eye surgeries, workout classes, food nutrition and goal setting.
”We also plan on bringing clothes, toiletries and some back to school materials for the children as they are also a big part of our foundation,” he explained.
