NAHCON officials arrive in S/Arabia, signs MoU on 2023 Hajj

A delegation of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has arrived in Saudi Arabia for pre-agreement documentation for the 2023 hajj.

The commission’s Assistant Director of Information and Publications, Mousa Ubandawaki, made the disclosure in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

The team is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a pre-agreement document stating the guidelines for the 2023 Hajj.

He explained that the delegation had the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Zubair Dada, as the head, also included Sen. Adamu Bulkachuwa, Chairman of Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and Abubakar Nalaraba, Chairman of House Committee on Pilgrimage.

Others are the Chairman and CEO of NAHCON, Zikrullah Hassan, some board members of the commission, stakeholders and staff.

Ubandawaki said that the signing of the MoU would signal the commencement of operational activities for the 2023 Hajj.

He said the commission was leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the 2023 Hajj operation was more successful.

To ensure complete success of the 2023 Hajj operation, he said the commission is synergising with all stakeholders.

This is to ensure for effective service delivery.

”The commission appeals to stakeholders and general public for cooperation, helpful advice and objective criticism to ensure successful hajj operation.”

He said the team will attend an hajj exhibition, do Umrah and meet with the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

It will hold meetings with Mutawif Company for Africa Non-Arab Countries.

The delegation is also to meet Adillah Establishment in Madinah and Pilgrims’ E-track system Department.

”Similarly, the team will meet with General Cars Syndicate, the United Agents Office, the Islamic Development Bank, the Executives of the State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, Commissions, the representatives of the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria and others.
